Abstract
Human beings cannot survive being separated from the natural environment. However, the development of urbanization has exacerbated environmental degradation and reduced people's access to nature. The fast pace of life in the city; people steaking to their phone from a day started, the real experience is gradually replaced by the virtual experience as well. Lack of natural experience has become a common problem challenging the world. However, there are more and more discoveries in the academic circles, pointing out that exposure to nature can bring people physical and psychological health benefits, as well as can promote more environmentally friendly actions. Therefore, this study uses the citizen science group"Taiwan Amphibian Conservation Volunteers" as the research object to explore the citizen scientists who have been exposed to nature for a long time and are enthusiastic about frog conservation monitoring activities, their sense of nature connectedness; psychological well-being; the correlation between the sense of nature connectedness and psychological well-being; the personal background of the volunteers. At the same time, we explore the volunteers' environmental action experience; the correlation between the sense of nature connectedness and the environmental action experience; finally, we also discover the possible predictors of nature connectedness in environmental action experience. The research results show that volunteers’ sense of nature connectedness and psychological well-being have a good performance, and there is a significant positive correlation between the sense of nature connectedness and psychological well-being; different personal backgrounds do not have significant differences in the sense of nature connectedness; environmental action experience performance good, and the sense of nature connectedness has a significant positive correlation with the environmental action experience; the NR-Self dimension in the Nature Relatedness Scale (NR-21) has 16.9% predictive power for the environmental action experience. The research findings validated other similar research findings. It shows that when people are often close to nature, they can improve their psychological well-being; long-term stay in nature can also promote more environmentally friendly actions. In general, Taiwan amphibian conservation volunteers have been caring for the population and habitat of frogs for over a decade. They have not only preserved the habitat of the frogs but also brought healthier minds and lives to themselves.
