談《論述》之翻譯

Abstract

本論文共分五章，探討筆者翻譯《論述》(Discourse)一書之過程，以及翻譯實踐上的技巧與策略。第一章為「緒論」，說明筆者翻譯《論述》一書時的個人背景，以及撰寫論文的動機和論文架構。第二章為「原著介紹」，簡介作者莎拉‧彌爾斯的研究領域、影響她研究方向的因素等，同時也節錄《論述》一書各章的內容重點。第三章為「翻譯過程」，以詮釋學派之「闡釋循環」理論為主軸，說明筆者的翻譯歷程。此外，亦解釋筆者翻譯重要字詞時之考量。第四章為「翻譯實務探討」，說明筆者在實際翻譯時所運用的策略與文體選擇。第五章為「結語」，總結全文，提出筆者翻譯之心得與感想。

This thesis is a discussion of the process and ways of translating Discourse. The first chapter states the motive for and the structure of this thesis. The second chapter gives a brief introduction of the author, Sara Mills, and summarizes the book chapter by chapter. The third chapter, based on the concept of “the hermeneutic circle”, describes the process of translating the book and explains how the translator understands and interprets certain terms in the text. The fourth chapter categorizes the strategies used and the various styles appear in the book and the translation. The last chapter concludes the thesis.
