Item A Preliminary Study of English Conversation Instruction at Universities in Taiwan(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 2002-10-??) 常紹如此研究報當針國內各英語或外語學系所開設之會話課程一全面調查，範圍包括教師之授課心得、該科之教學目標、授課內容、上課方式、及評量方法，並就前述各層 面之研究發現，做分析評估。研究發指出多數參與研究者對該科之教學具相當程度之意願及信心，課程內容及授課方式多採用間接而非直接式會話教學法，教學中仍 多強調文法和發音之正確性及字彙之習得，而較輕忽與會譯有關之言談和策略能力之培養及運用。本籍和外籍老師在該科之授課心得和方式上亦呈現某些差異。報告 中並就可能如何改進我國大學階段之英語會話教學及來英語會話教學研究方向，提出相關建議。Item An Empirical Study of a Direct approach to English Conversation Instruction(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 2004-01-??) 常紹如此研究報告旨在探討「直接式英語會話教學法」(即以學習者之研究及參與英語會話為本質之教學)對學習者英語會話能力之影響。研究過程中對三十五名於參與者 修習該課之前後，分吸就其在認知、行為、及情緒等三方面之英語會話表現實施多項測試。測試發現直接式英語會話教學確可有效增加學習者對英語會話過程、言談 及技巧之認知了宗；此教學法亦可改進行加強學習者在參與二人對譯時之實際行為表現，如在「鎮靜度」「他人中心」、「自我表達」及「互動過程經營處理」等技 巧之運用處理上，皆有顯著進步；而就增進學習者之自信心、減低或排除其心理障礙、以及營造有利參與英語會譯之正面心態等相關心理建設，直接式英語會話教學 法經證實亦對學習者有相當助益。故此，相較顧現有文獻中對直接式英語會話教學法之價值多只停留於印象式推測或純理論主張之階段，本研究以實證方式，肯定了 此教學法對提昇學習者英語會話能力之具體效益。報告中並就未來會話教學研究之可能方向，提出相關建議。Item 十年來臺灣區高中入學考試英語科試題的分析(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 1986-10-??) 陳金娥; 許勝源Item A Sociolinguistic Analysis of Three Mandarin-English-speaking Preschoolers' Code-switching Behavior at Home(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 2001-07-??) 閔慧慈本研究在檢視影響三位中、英雙語幼童語言轉換行為的因素。經過為期四個月實地錄音、錄影、田野筆記、事後訪談分析顯示，該三名幼童的語言行為，並未如文獻 所預期，充分反映出渠等母親的語言模式。其中兩位幼童的母親較常使用完整的中文句子與幼童交談，較不常使用中、英夾雜的方式(中文句子夾雜英文單用)，但 該兩名幼童卻較常使用中、英夾雜的方式和母親對話，反較不常用完整的中文語句;另一位母親則較常用中、英夾雜的方式與幼童對談，較少使用完整的中文語句， 但該名幼童卻常採一句中文、一句英文的方式與母親交談。本文結論:該三名幼童的語言行為模式除了受到母親語言影響之外，亦受到母親與幼童溝通方式、及母親 對雙語轉換態度的影響;另外學校同儕、兄長、及電視媒體語言、幼童本身對英語喜好程度、與其自身語言創造能力等，亦毠響渠等雙語轉換行為。Item 談母語在臺灣英語教學上之適用性(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 1995-04-??) 楊育芬; 沈毓敏Item 何時學英語(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 1999-04-??) 盧丹懷Item 西方人眼中的臺灣學生學習英文的信念及態度(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 1996-01-??) 紀鳳鳴Item A Review of Recent Language Teaching Literature in Taiwan(國立台灣師範大學英語學系, 2004-07-??) 劉顯親This paper examines recent locallanguagelEnglish teaching literature in Taiwan, the Republic of China via a professional review of existing research reports, and compares the findings with topics presented in Taiwan's first English teachingconference in 1984 and in the World Congress of Applied Linguistics in 2002 (AILA). It also points out possible avenues or future directions for local scholars who rnay wish to integrate new insights from the intemational academic comrnunityto address local issues. The database for the review includes various conference proceedings, some issues of a particular joumal, and the program book of an international conference, AILA. Content analyses of abstracts were conducted topoollogistic data about content areas or issues and levels of leamers. A comparison is then made on the findings of local literature and those of AILA. The results showed that college leamers were the major participants or subjects investigated,followed by high school and prirnary school students; and quantitative research approaches such as experimental design and survey were the major methods adopted. The topic of Technology and English leaming has stayed a popular theme, preceded by that of four skills. Those of English teaching for young leamers and language testing/assessment are on rise. Lastly, issues concerning research on English teaching in Taiwan as compared with those addressed by some intemational joumal papers are discussed with research implications.
