亞太流行音樂學院競爭策略之研究

Abstract
流行音樂進入教育體制內成為高等教育的一環,在教育目標、課程宗旨、課程設計與教學實務設計等各方面,均有別於傳統的音樂教育,本研究試圖以美、中、臺等亞太地區的個案進行比較分析,以探究流行音樂學院的發展與未來趨勢,特別著重在設立獨立流行音樂學院的國家進行分析,以理解其學院教育的制度設計與發展,教育界與實務產業間的互動,以及未來可能的競爭策略。本研究先透過文獻分析,探究主要國家的大學教育中,有關流行音樂教育的實際運作狀況與制度設計,輔以深度訪談具有代表性的資深流行音樂工作者,其中亦有曾在外國流行音樂學院就讀並返國實際參與產業的流行音樂工作者,再加上研究者本身親身在高等教育所設立的流行音樂系任職的實務經驗,透過教育實務工作與流行音樂產業實務經驗彼此互動的研究視角,進一步分析不同國家流行音樂教育的差異,以及所遭遇到衝突與困境。本研究發現,臺灣具有流行音樂發展的優勢,透過高等教育的轉型,顧及流行音樂產業所需的實用性,臺灣有成立「流行音樂學院」的必要性,特別是面對未來傳播科技的快速演進,流行音樂教育必須結合理論、實務知識與應用技術,設計出具有創新、專業的獨特課程分類,再加上線上教育的輔助,將可創造真正具有專業特色且獨立的流行音樂學院,如此,才能持續保有臺灣在國際流行音樂界的優勢地位。
As popular music education became a part of higher education system, the differences from traditional music education has shown in goals, curriculum purposes, structural design on teaching activities and other aspects. This study explores future trends on developing college of popular music by comparative analysis of cases study in Asia-pacific region, focusing on countries with independent college of popular music established, to understand their institutional design, interactions with industrial practice, and future competitive strategies.This study starts with literature review, investigating actual status and design from colleges of popular music in major countries, supplemented by in-depth interviews with representative senior musicians, including individuals having studied in music school abroad and devoted themselves in the popular music industry, with the researcher’s practical working experiences in popular music department established under higher education system regulations in Taiwan, further analyze country-wise distinctions from a perspective of interactions between education practice and music industry, as well as the conflicts and dilemma in popular music education. This study suggests that Taiwan has its strength in developing popular music with education and industrial practices. Establishing “College of Popular Music” in Taiwan is necessary, especially with evolutionary technologies, combining theories and practices, with innovative categorized curriculum designs and associated online courses, creating a unique independent college. By this, Taiwan may maintain its position in global music industry.
