《政治為什麼重要？——讓民主政治發揮功用》之中譯與評析

Abstract

本論文共分四章，旨在探討《政治為什麼重要？——讓民主政治發揮功用》(Why Politics Matters: Making Democracy Work)之中文翻譯以及翻譯過程。第一章「研究背景」介紹原文、譯文並予以比較。第二章涵蓋研究目的、基本觀點與研究架構。第三章介紹文本類型、文本功能與翻譯策略，並引用譯文實例說明應用情形。第四章結論總結本研究發現並提出建議。

This study aims to explore the author’s translation of Why Politics Matters: Making Democracy Work, with special focus on the translation strategies employed in the actual translating process. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter explores the background of this study, completed with an introduction and a comparison between the source text and the translated text. The second chapter states the purpose of this study, as well as the author’s basic perspective of translation and the structure of this thesis. The third chapter features an analysis of text types, text functions, and translation strategies, with accompanying excerpts of the translated text to explain the applications of translation strategies. The fourth chapter concludes the findings and the author’s suggestions derived from the translating process.
