dc.description.abstract本文根據《逆寫帝國》(The Empire Writes Back)與J. P. Vinay 和J. Darbelnet提出的翻譯策略分析奈及利亞作家阿契貝 (Chinua Achebe) 的作品Things Fall Apart與阿迪契 (Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie) 的作品The Thing Around Your Neck。筆者首先介紹研究文本、兩位作者的作品與三位譯者的背景,接著說明奈及利亞文學與後殖民主義的關聯,並進一步說明後殖民理論和翻譯的關係。本論文主要以兩大架構分析研究文本,分別是後殖民寫作架構以及J.P. Vinay 和 J. Darbelnet提出的翻譯策略,在這兩大架構的基礎下,筆者分析Things Fall Apart 的兩部中譯本 和The Thing Around Your Neck的中譯本中,三位譯者如何翻譯帶有伊博族特色的文化詞,其中包含宗教、食物、諺語… … 等。研究結果呈現三位譯者如何在源語文化和譯語文化之間的「第三空間」產出譯文,說明譯者如何在歸化與異化光譜兩端呈現伊博文化詞彙以及相關議題。最後結論說明譯者如何轉換文化色彩,並總結不同翻譯策略以及其背後的效果。zh_TW
In the veins of postcolonial writing structure mentioned in The Empire Writes Back and translation strategies proposed by J. P. Vinay and J. Darbelnet, this thesis examines two Chinese translation works of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart and one Chinese translation work of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s The Thing Around Your Neck. The two writers were both Nigerian-Igbo born and had published several works written in English. The thesis first introduces background of two writers and three translators, which is followed by the historical background of Nigerian literature in parallel with that of postcolonial literature. With theories mentioned in The Empire Writes Back and translation strategies proposed by J. P. Vinay and J. Darbelnet, the analyses focus on how Igbo cultural words, such as concepts of religion, food and idioms, are manifested through translating texts. The findings indicate how three translators present the ‘third space’ that exists between the source language and target language and how translating texts are manipulated within the spectrum of ‘domestication’ and ‘foreignization’. The result section is concluded by methods of translating cultural marks of the source texts and overall effects of English-Chinese translation in regard to Igbo culture.en_US
