Abstract
This thesis is a study of Classical Chinese literary nomenclature taught at Senior High School and focuses on three articles: “Jian-Zhu-Ke-Shu”, “Hong-Men-Yan”, and “Qiu-Ran-Ke-Zhuan”.The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, explaining the motivation behind and the purpose of the research and literature review. Then, the nomenclature and Chinese character word choice is discussed, along with the classification of Classical Chinese characters. Finally, the Chinese characters in the three articles, “Jian-Zhu-Ke-Shu”, “Hong-Men-Yan”, and “Qiu-Ran-Ke-Zhuan” are collated, and the research methods are explained. The Classical Chinese characters taught at the Senior High School level in the three articles “Jian-Zhu-Ke-Shu”, “Hong-Men-Yan”, and “Qiu-Ran-Ke-Zhuan” involve many problems in text interpretation, so these three articles are the core of the discussion. For example, the Chinese characters in “Jian-Zhu-Ke-Shu” relate to the persuasive skills of the author, Li Si, while the Chinese characters in" Hong-Men-Yan " are related to Sima Qian's character imagery. “Qiu-Ran-Ke-Zhuan” has the largest number and variety of Chinese noun characters and includes many daily utensils which focuses attention on the common creative literary landscape of the Tang Dynasty; these concepts are discussed in Chapters 2 to 4. Issues related to Chinese characters are traced back to their origins, supplemented by illustrations to clarify the appearance of various artifacts to interpret the meaning of these Chinese characters in reading comprehension.Chapter 5 is the conclusion and explains how the research results have contributed to the establishment of a systematic method for the research and analysis of Classical Chinese literature at the Senior High School level. This last chapter discusses the importance of Classical Chinese literature reading comprehension in terms of the cultivation of Chinese history and culture, with the aspiration to influence more people to study Classical Chinese at the Senior High School level or beyond.
