Abstract
The research adopts guasi-experimental study method, and the subjects of the study are 30 5-year-old preschool. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of STEM creative teaching program which focused on “12 creative formulas” on young children’s creativity, as well as their satisfaction on the course. The research adopts guasi-experimental study method, and the subject are 30 5-year-old preschool children. They were divided into two groups: The experimental group was exposed to 7-week STEM creative teaching program; The comparing group without an experimental treatment during the same time. The research tool is"Thinking Creatively in Action and Movement (TCAM) " to test the creative performance of young children. The two groups of children were tested before and after teaching, and the experimental data analyzes children's creativity by one-way ANCOVA.The experimental group were surveyed by the activity preference questionnaire and the course satisfaction questionnaire, and the results were analyzed by statistical number and percentage to understand the course satisfaction. The data such as instructional evaluation before and after experimental teaching were collected to the analysis of the experimental effect with the Paired Sample t-test.The research results are as follows:1.STEM creative teaching program can enhance children's creativity. 2.Children in the experimental group have significantly better overall creativity, fluency, and originality scores than the control group. 3.The children in the experimental group were not significantly better than the control group in their imagination scores. 4.The children in the experimental group are highly satisfied with the STEM creative teaching program and can improve learning effectiveness.
