回臺高齡韓僑之老化適應歷程探究

Abstract

人口老化已是近年已開發國家首要面臨的現象，臺灣也不例外。老化是長期且需要持續適應的歷程，在此過程中生理、心理、社會層面皆會因老化產生眾多障礙。由於臺灣歷史背景與地理位置，而存在著回臺韓僑這樣具有特殊遷徙歷程的族群。國際性遷徙充滿挑戰與不確定性，會大幅影響與家人、朋友和社區的聯繫。本研究好奇在經歷不同文化衝擊及遷徙歷程的高齡韓僑，是如何適應回到臺灣的生活；因此，本研究目的為探討回臺華僑高齡者之老化適應歷程及其動機，以質性研究之半結構訪談方式，深度訪談4位回臺高齡韓僑，探討回臺高齡華僑族群老化適應狀況與其意涵。本研究結果發現高齡韓僑在回臺生活之適應上從展現對新環境及自身老化之衝擊產生困擾與影響，接下來開始改變自己、嘗試調整行為、尋找熟悉之生活元素並建立新連結，最後能夠自主安排生活，掌握當地資源並接受回臺生活。其中以家人及過往熟悉的生活元素兩項因素，最為促進高齡韓僑回臺之老化適應生活。

Population ageing is the big issue that a developed countries face with. People have different and difficult situations that need to adjust when aging. Aging causes lots of impact in physiological, psychological and social dimensions. There is a group of overseas Chinese in Taiwan due to the special historical background and geographic location of Taiwan. The overseas Chinese faced a challenging life after they moved back to Taiwan, thus, to some degree, impact their social connection as well as relationship with family and friends. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of the process from adjustment to aging of the elderly overseas Chinese from Korea. Conducted by semi-structural interview and in-depth interviews, this research recruited four research participants who returned to Taiwan in their old age. The findings of this study are, when participants just returned to Taiwan, their life were full of uncertainty, and then they tried to change themselves to get adapted to the life in Taiwan. The two key factors that boost the adjustment to aging are the family supports and the connection to the similar elements to their life in Korea.
