Abstract
A Research on the Feasibility of Managing a Theater Type Museum:A Case Study of a Lin Liu-Hsin Puppet Theatre Museum Abstract The combination of culture industries and experience economy has developed cultural economy. Under the trend, industries pay more attention to create consumers’ experience. Museums in Taiwan seem too similar to attract people and most are on limited budget. Therefore, museums should change as the world changes. This research tried to combine the concept of theater and museum and analyze its feasibility. The research built the experience elements of a theater type museum through literature reviews – creating a scenario, linking with stories and chances to role play. The research combined the opinions between producers(museums) and consumers(the audience) through interviewing the curator and collecting statistics of experience evaluation and agreement to three experience elements from the audience. This research took Lin Liu-Hsin Puppet Theatre Museum as the case study. The results showed that the audience gave a positive evaluation on experience evaluation in Lin Liu-Hsin Puppet Theatre Museum. And they also agreed with three experience elements, especially with creating a scenario. It suggested that one should emphasize the factor of creating a scenario to become a theater type museum. The research results showed a theater type museum, a museum combining theater elements, is feasible and hoped the results can activate museums in Taiwan and can be the resource for museums pursuing changes.
