| zh_TW |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Street dance has gained significant popularity in recent times, with its presence in TV shows and clubs becoming commonplace. The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a surge in online learning, including street dance classes. Developing a strong foundation in rhythm is essential for mastering street dance, and if video tutorials can effectively facilitate skill acquisition, they could serve as a valuable resource for practicing various dance techniques and alleviating the apprehension associated with attending in-person dance classes. Purpose: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of learning rhythm through watching basic dance videos versus receiving instruction from a teacher, while also exploring potential differences in rhythm learning between genders. Method: Fifteen participants with regular physical activity but no prior dance experience were recruited for this study. The participants were randomly assigned to two groups: one group learned through video tutorials, while the other received guidance from a dance teacher. Biomechanical parameters were measured before and after the learning sessions. These parameters included the range of motion (ROM) of the hip, knee, and ankle joints, as well as the movement of the center of mass and chest during rhythm-based movements. Statistical analysis was conducted using repeated-measures ANOVA. Results: The two learning methods yielded significant differences in hip ROM, with participants who watched videos exhibiting a wider range of motion. However, both learning methods resulted in a significant increase in chest displacement. When considering gender differences, except for hip ROM, females generally exhibited greater values than males across the measured parameters. Conclusion: The group that watched the videos showed an increased hip range of motion (ROM), but they tended to perform the movements incorrectly. This observation was consistent among males as well. It is possible that this discrepancy is due to their exercise habits. When teaching others, it is important to prioritize focusing on the hip joint to enhance the quality of movement. | en_US |
