Abstract

本研究旨在探討軍校外文系學生翻譯錯誤以及翻譯困難,研究採量性和質性研究方法,研究材料來自教育部中英文翻譯能力檢定試題,研究對象為十位軍校外文系四年級學生,依據其學測英文科成績分為高成就與低成就兩組,並於測驗後實施訪談。研究結果發現,高低成就學生在字彙量的部分還需持續加強,練習的時數以及強度也必須提升;而低成就學生需重拾文法課本,將過往不熟悉的觀念逐一釐清,並廣泛閱讀,以提升中英文程度。研究最後根據上述分析資料、訪談結果以及研究者的自身經歷提出建議,希望能提供學生們翻譯學習以及校方教學作為參考。
The purpose of this study is to explore the cadets' translation errors and difficulties in Chinese-English Translation in the Department of Applied Foreign Languages at Republic of China Military Academy. Research material was Chinese English translation competency examination from Ministry of Education. Research subjects included ten senior cadets, who were categorized as high achievers and low achievers according to their English performance on the General Scholastic Ability Test. Qualitative data collected from retrospective interview was analyzed and further explored cadets' translation and learning difficulties. Research results are as follows: high achievers have to continue to increase their vocabulary, and intensify their translation practices. Low achievers, on the other hand, have to relearn grammar and read extensively to elevate their Chinese level. In light of the research results and researcher's personal experience, some suggestions are proposed for translation learning and the Academy.
