Abstract
This study aimed to explore the correlation among self-differentiation, social support and life adjustment of college students, and social support here refers to the support from schoolmates and friends. This study collected data through questionnaire survey. Under purposive sampling, a total of 753 day school college students from 18 universities in northern, central and southern Taiwan were chosen as research objects. Exerting “Basic Personal Information,” “Self-differentiation Scale (Student Edition),” “Social Support Scale” and “Life Adjustment Scale” as research tools, the data was then processed by t-test, single factor analysis of variance, product moment correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Major findings were as follows: 1. Students earned moderate scores in self-differentiation, social support and life adjustment in current situation. 2. There is significant difference in both total scores and all sub-levels on self-differentiation, social support and life adjustment among students of different sex/college/grade/living condition. 3. There is positive correlation among the total scores of self-differentiation, social support and life adjustment. 4. The students’ self-differentiation and social support have positive predictive value for their life adjustment. viii Finally, the researcher carried out a discussion based on research results and made specific recommendations, hoped to serve as academic and practical references.
