Abstract
Abstract The purpose of this study report is the sleep quality of high-tech industry Employees, and the relationship of sleep quality with associated factors including demographic factors and physical activity. The International physical activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) of each subject was assessed to represent the physical activity and sleep quality. The investigated subjects include 387 R&D staff of high-tech industry. The sampling is by E-mail transmission questionnaire. These researches receive 565 electronic questionnaires after to carefully examine the rejection part invalid questionnaire, and use statistics software to count and to analyze the obtained material by SPSS for the Windows. The findings are: 1. R & D staff of high-tech industries are mostly male, mostly young and unmarried. Their BMI, consciously pressure and perceived health status, the majority of people arenormal, and health conditions are getting worse. 2. 65% High-tech industry R& D staff show insufficient physical activity. 3. Nearly 58% of high-tech industry R & D staff have bad quality of sleep. 4. The personal factors which influence differences level of physical activity are age, education & health status. 5. The personal factors which significantly influence sleep quality are age, education, marriage status, BMI, and conscious pressure & health condition. 6. There was no significant difference in high-tech industry R & D staff of different levels of physical activity on the overall quality of sleep. There were significant differences but in the quality of sleep in a personal subjective factor on the quality of sleep and daytime dysfunction. The results of this study shows insufficient physical activity of high-tech industry R& D staff leads the poor condition of subjective sleep quality, and often shows dysfunction situation in the daytime. It could be appropriate to increase physical activity to improve subjective poor sleep quality and reduce daytime dysfunction.
