Abstract
The korfball game has added a rule of 25-second attack time limit since 2009, but few researches have examined the relation between the attack time and shooting performance. The purpose of the study was to explore how the attack time and shooting area affect the korfball shooting performance. Methods: Twenty korfball games of the 2017 World Games were analyzed for the study. The game videos were downloaded through IKF website, and the SIMI Scout software was used for notational analysis. Results: 2017 World Games Korfball average attack time was 8.66 seconds. The attack time was not normally distributed. Remaining attack times were clustered into 3 groups. The results of two-way repeated measure ANOVA showed that there was the least number of shots, number of goals and goal rate for the 0~10 seconds remaining attack time group than the other 2 groups. For the shooting area, the front court had the g number of shots, the back court came next, and the capsule area had the least number of shots. More goals were from the front court than the capsule area, and the capsule area had the highest goal rate. Shooting performance was associated with passing strategies in that capsule to capsule strategy was highly associated with assist. Conclusion: Time and space both play important roles in korfball shooting performance. Future studies may use 3-group attack time as a basis to analyze more performance variables, and analyze the static shots and dynamicshots separately.
