Abstract
本研究旨在探討《108年國防報告書》英譯版翻譯策略，並採用英國翻譯學家紐馬克(Peter Newmark)的翻譯理論作為評析依據。本研究將所見 問題分類為九類:口號、文化詞彙、敏感詞、專業用語、用詞精確度、欠 額翻譯、超額翻譯、漏譯以及段落架構與語序結構，並針對各類問題提出 譯文評析以及建議譯文，研究最後根據上述問題提出一個翻譯策略綜整， 希望能提供我國國防相關翻譯工作者一個參考依據，在有限的時間內，完 成翻譯工作，為我國國防盡一份心力。
The purpose of this paper is to explore the translation strategy employed in the English translation of 2019 National Defense Report based on the translation theory of Peter Newmark. This paper classifies identified problems into nine categories: slogans, cultural words, sensitive words, professional terms, omissions, under-translation, over-translation, and paragraph and sentence structure. Forty-six examples are presented in this paper with the author’s comments and recommended versions of translations. In light of the research results, a summary of suggested translation strategies is proposed for defense-related translators, providing them with a frame of reference and allowing them to complete their translation works within a limited time frame.
