Abstract
The concept of user-centered library services is widely discussed as an important issue in library literature. A usercentered library should integrate the concept of information literacy into the user education programs. This paper will articulate the importance of information literacy, the relationship between information literacy and educational functions of academic libraries; and the way information literacy impact librarianship.
