Abstract
本論文之目的在藉由比較不同族群之口譯表現,探討翻譯研究所口譯訓練對於軍事口譯員是否為必要的存在,並藉此了解口譯專業訓練對於譯者之影響。國軍與外國軍事交流逐漸增加,軍事口譯員需求也在不斷提升,目前翻譯任務大部分都選用正在服役之現役人員,並擁有基本英文能力且具有軍事相關專業背景,而人員大致可分為兩大類,第一類為受過國外教育或長期訓練人員,第二類是在臺灣軍事院校語言中心受過英文相關班隊人員,而其中只有部分人員受過翻譯研究所的口譯學程,每種背景的口譯員表現及策略選用都不一樣,對於聽眾而言體驗有所不同,因此表示口譯訓練在表現上可能有影響。本論文藉由比較兩種族群所口譯的內容,藉由評比,比較口譯訓練是否對表現有產生影響,來探討口譯訓練是否為必要,以利國防部未來針對語言專業人才,完整既有教育規劃,甚至經管的規劃,確保我軍有足夠人才支持訓練任務,並協助與外國軍隊交流之各項任務。
The purpose of this paper is to explore whether the interpreting training provided by translation studies is essential for military interpreters by comparing the interpreting performances of different groups. This also aims to understand the impact of professional interpreting training on translators.As interactions between the national military and foreign military forces continue to increase, the demand for military interpreters is also on the rise. Consequently, most translation tasks are currently assigned to active-duty personnel who possess basic English skills and a professional background. These personnel can be roughly divided into two main categories: the first consists of individuals who have received education or long-term training abroad, and the second includes those who have undergone English-related training in language centers at military academies in Taiwan. Among them, some have participated in interpreting programs at translation studies, and the interpreting performances and strategies employed by interpreters from each background differ, leading to varied experiences for the audience. Therefore, the influence of interpreting training is significant.This paper compares the interpreting content of these two groups and evaluates whether interpreting training has an impact on performance. The aim is to investigate the necessity of interpreting training to assist the Ministry of National Defense in future educational planning for language professionals and the overarching management strategies. This will ensure that the military has sufficient personnel to support training tasks and assist in various mission-related exchanges with foreign armed forces.
