哈謝克《好兵帥克》中譯本研究

Abstract

《好兵帥克》是由捷克作家雅羅斯拉夫．哈謝克於1921至1923年創作的文學巨著。本篇論文旨在探討此部作品的其中六種中文譯本，研究本書在中國與臺灣複雜的接受史。本文探討文本涵括自1956至2007年所出版的四部中國譯作與兩部臺灣譯作。六部譯作包含兩部直譯本與四部轉譯本，轉譯本中有三部譯自英文譯本、一部則譯自德文譯本。上述多重版本的譯作提供完整檢視文本的機會，能一窺轉譯本的複雜世界，本文同時以兩本直譯本作為重要的比對依據。本篇論文共包含五章。第一章為緒論，而第二章接續介紹歷史背景、作者背景、小說相關資訊，同時也簡述翻譯此部哈謝克作品所面臨的挑戰。第三、四章詳細探討各轉譯本與直譯本。第五章統整研究發現、回應研究問題、討論研究限制，並提出對於未來研究的建議。筆者意在強調翻譯或詮釋文學作品時，必須有極其細微的了解才能跨越文化及語言的藩籬。

The Good Soldier Švejk, authored by the Czech writer Jaroslav Hašek, stands as a literary masterpiece published between 1921 and 1923. This thesis explores a sample of six Chinese translations of the novel in an attempt to provide insight into its complex reception history in China and Taiwan.The sample comprises four translations from China and two from Taiwan, spanning the period from 1956 to 2007. It includes four indirect translations, three from English and one from German, and two direct translations. This diverse selection allows for a comprehensive examination of the intricate world of indirect translation, with two direct translations providing an important comparative dimension.The thesis is structured into five chapters. It begins with an introduction and proceeds to chapter two, providing the historical context, a comprehensive background on the author, basic information about the novel, and a brief examination of the challenges involved in translating Hašek’s work. Chapters three and four form the main body of the thesis, scrutinizing the selected indirect and direct translations, respectively. The concluding chapter summarizes the general findings, answers secondary questions, and discusses the limitations of the study, while offering suggestions for future research.The author aims to emphasize the need for a nuanced understanding of the challenges involved in translating and interpreting literary works across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
