ABSTRACT Public sector organizations are faced with incredible pressures to adapt to the new, changing demands of the people. These new demands will possibly necessitate variations in the cultures of these organizations. Thus The Gambia as a developing country has to adjust to the trend of the developed and emerging economies to gain it competitive advantage. The public sector as a major employer of The Gambia has to be a driving force for public sector development. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among person-organization fit, organizational commitment and employee job satisfaction within the context of The Gambia public sector. A quantitative research approach will be used for this study. In this study, an online data collection as well as a hardcopy of the questionnaire was used to distribute to the targeted population. The findings from the study was analysed using SPSS v.23 statistical software. This study is delimited by the scope of study which is limited to the public sector of The Gambia.
