zh_TW
This study explores psychological adaptation strategies employed by Christian workers encountering situations of goodness betrayed in the workplace. Prior literature addressing such circumstances has primarily focused on contexts influenced by Confucian or Buddhist traditions, leaving a significant research gap regarding Christian-specific psychological mechanisms. Using qualitative interviews and theoretical thematic analysis, this research examines the experiences of 15 Christian participants. Results reveal a predominant reliance on schema assimilation and schema shift strategies, with limited application of schema transcendence—a strategy more prevalent within Eastern traditions. Christian workers notably emphasized beliefs in divine justice and a long-term perspective, frequently referencing scriptures such as Galatians 6:9:"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." These theological underpinnings enabled participants to maintain psychological balance and moral motivation despite adversity. By being the first to systematically examine the phenomenon of goodness betrayed within the Christian context, this study substantially enriches existing theoretical frameworks and provides critical cross-cultural insights into psychological adaptation strategies.Future research could employ quantitative methodologies or cross-cultural comparative studies to further examine the generalizability of these findings.en_US
