In this study we develop an online peer assessment system for EFL oral reading activities to overcome the potential drawbacks of traditional peer assessment.Item A sequential behavioral detection and process analysis of knowledge construction of a collaborate learning instructional discussion activity in an online learning community(2009-05-25) Hou, Huei-Tse; Chang, Kuo-En; Sung, Yao-TingItem Detecting users’ online knowledge sharing behavioral patterns in a knowledge management system: Using sequential analysis to explore online knowledge construction process of an online teacher community(2009-06-06) 侯惠澤; 張國恩; 宋曜廷; Hou, Huei-Tse; Chang, Kuo-En; Sung, Yao-TingItem A cognitive-interactive approach to Chinese characters learning: system design and development(Springer Berlin / Heidelberg, 2009-08-09) Lan, Yu-Ju; Sung, Yao-Ting.; Wu, Chia-Yu; Chang, Kuo-EnA solid knowledge of Chinese characters plays an important role in Chinese reading. Essentially, Chinese characters, a graphic- based orthographic rule, are much different from the words of an alphabetic language, such as English, French, etc. The uniqueness of Chinese characters make it is extremely difficult for most of the CFL/CSL learners no matter what their nationalities are. In this paper we developed a Chinese character learning system based on a cognitive-interactive perspective to help CFL/CSL learners learn Chinese characters. The results of a preliminary survey show that most of the surveyed CSL learners approved the learning system’s design rationale as well as made positive comments on the system learning effect upon their Chinese character knowledge construction.Item Rapid e-learning model for corporate training integrating instructional design concepts(2009-01-10) Chang, Shu-Ping; Chang, Kuo-En; Sung, Yao-Ting; Yu, Ming-HsiuItem Let’s read together: An evaluation of a computer assisted reciprocal early English reading system(2007-07-16) Lan, Yu-Ju; Sung, Yao-Ting; Chang, Kuo-EnThe purposes of this study were to evaluate the effect of a computer assisted reciprocal early English reading (CAREER) system. The results showed that these components were unable to guarantee the students to collaborate well when they lacked for the abilities to accomplish the assigned tasks. Nevertheless, with the support of the proposed mobile reading system the students were benefited by collaborating with each other.Item Analysis of time-management pattern of interactive behaviours during online project-based learning(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2007-07-18) Hou, Huei-Tse; Chang, Kuo-En; Sung, Yao-TingThis study aims to explore the time-management patterns of learners' interactive behaviors during online project-based learning (PBL) from an empirical observation without teachers' interception. According to the derived pattern, the study found how learners allocated their time and how these interactive activities influence learners to allocate their time more appropriately. Finally, we also gave some suggestions for teachers' interception and guidance for promoting the quality of students' projects.Item A mobile-device-supported brain- friendly reading system(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2008-03-23) Lan, Yu-Ju; Sung, Yao-Ting; Chang, Kuo-EnThe purposes of this study were to implement a brain-friendly learning environment for EFL early reading by a mobile-device-supported computer assisted reciprocal early English reading (CAREER) system and evaluate its effect upon elementary EFL learners' early reading skills. Results appeared that the students were benefited by collaborating with each other with the support of CAREER.Item Certification of e-learning courseware: A case study on Taiwanese experiences(2007-10-18) 宋曜廷; 張國恩; Sung, Yao-Ting; Chang, Kuo-En
