Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore high school students’ evaluation of three-dimensional (3D), virtual-reality (VR) anti-drug teaching materials by using the Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior. The study participants comprised 90 students from a senior high school in Taiwan. After receiving anti-drug education with 3D VR teaching materials, the participants were administered a structured questionnaire survey and inquired about their thoughts on the teaching materials. The proposed model was verified with satisfactory levels of reliability and validity. The partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was usued to examine the proposed model and found eigh significant paths. The findings showed that the participants’ attitude was significantly and positively affected by perceived usefulness and compatibility, but not for perceived playfulness. The participants’ subjective norm was significantly and positively affected by significant others’ influences. The participants’ perceived behavior control was significantly and positively affected by resource facilitating condition and self-efficacy, but not for technology facilitating condition. The participants’ continuance intention of using 3D VR significantly and positively was affected by attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavior control. The proposed model exhibited satisfactory goodness-of-fit. for senior hight school students on continuance intention of using 3D VR. The explained variance by attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavior control on continuance intentions reached 55.4%. The findings supported that innovative anti-drug 3D VR teaching materials increased teenagers’ willingness to learn about drug use prevention. Moreover, it is promising to promote future application in schools.
