Abstract

Secondly, the path analysis showed that the positive perfectionism traits “Order” and the problem-solving attitude are partial mediators between the “suppression and forbearance” non-expressive emotional management strategies and the “life adjustment”. Thirdly, the attitude to problem-solving was the full mediator between the positive perfectionism traits “Order” and the “life adjustment”. Fourthly, the “suppression” emotional management strategy had a negative direct effect on the life adjustment among children, whereas the “forbearance” emotional management strategy had a positive direct effect on children in life adjustment. Finally, this study had implications on the fields of school counseling and guidance. Concrete suggestions were provided to school counselors and guidance professionals in elementary school settings, as future research in related fields.
