Abstract
This paper deals with the prominent figure of Chou Dynasty - Lu Shang (better known as Chiang Tai Kung), his life, his deeds and his work - Liu Tao. The first chapter explains how Chiang Tai Kung helped Emperors Wen and Wu of Chou Dynasty to establish their kingdoms. Chapter Two concerns itself with the incorrect ideas the ancient scholars had about Chiang Tai Kung and Liu Tao. Chapter Three is divided into two main sections. In the first section, we explore the political ideas of the leader and the way of governing people. Section Two compares the military thoughts between Chiang Tai Kung, as reflected in Liu Tao, and the other ancient militarists. The final chapter sums up the thoughts as contained in Liu Tao and appraises the overall value of the work.
