Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate the personal background factors, socio-psychological factors and environment for exercise in relationship with regular exercise behavior. The subjects were the public Senior High School Teachers of Taipei Teachers’ Association’s members. The instrument for the study was a questionnaire, and the valid samples were 338. The findings are as follows: 1. About 40% of the subjects exercise regularly. 2. Subjects who were male, perceived their health status to be better or have experiences in clubs were more likely to exercise regularly. 3. Regular exercise was positively correlated with social support for exercise, self-efficacy for exercise, sport enjoyment and outcome expectation value for exercise. 4. Environment for exercise, including exercise facility and sport venue near resident, was positively correlated with regular exercise. 5. Self-efficacy for exercise, exercise facility near resident and self-perceived health status could predict regular exercise and explain 49% variance.
