藝術是追求自由的途徑─張天健創作自述

Abstract

藝術是追求自由的途徑，而且具有普遍性，可以成為人們追求自由的通路。 創作首先需要了解自己，才能在各種的表現形式、媒材與題材之中有所取捨。而畫家征服內心的茫然之後，將所思所感順暢的表達出來，那創作便是自由表現的一部份，為擺脫生命侷限的努力。 論文由〈我追求藝術的歷程〉談起，敘述藝術觀養成的背景，並例舉啟發與影響我的藝術家。接著再談論我的藝術觀──什麼是藝術？藝術追求什麼？ 藝術是一種文化創造的行為，無所謂進步與退步。而創作的意義在於新，但“新”並非完全的無中生有，而是舊有中的新創見，以有限的形式表達無限情思。它必須建立在互動的行為中，並且是有意識的創作，感性與理性的協調。 藝術的目的，涵蓋於探索自然、宇宙與人生之中。藉由創作，來宣洩情緒與分享情感，而使命感，便是持續創作的動力泉源。在創作的過程中，釐清自我、探索自我與完成自我。 文中分析了寫實與抽象的概念，論及形式表現在創作中的意義，並且提出了對今日藝術環境的反抗。藉由先輩的經驗，指出以美與善為創作的目的，人文主義為藝術發展的方向。最後闡述我的風格如何建立，並例舉作品，敘述創作的過程，將藝術觀具體實踐的經驗以文字記錄下來。Art is a way of pursuing freedom and this trait is the way of the pursuit of freedom. By understanding the real selves, artists can demonstrate their creations with diverse of form, media and topic. Artists conquer their lost minds and combine their emotion and thoughts. They express them freely through their creation. This shows freedom, also shows proves of artists get rid of life limitation. This thesis starts with the chapter – my path of chasing art. This part illustrates my art concept and background. It also mentions several artists who inspire and bring significant impacts on me. In following chapters, it focuses on my personal art view: what is art? What is art pursuing? The conclusion is that there is no progress or regress among arts. Art is an activity of creating culture. “New” is the meaning of art work, but this is not completely out of nothing. The concept is refining existing object to create new thought and ideas; use limited ways to convey infinite emotion. Therefore, this concept has to rely on conscious expression and interaction; a balance of human being’s emotional and rational feeling. The nature(purpose) of art is exploring the relation of nature, universe and life. Art work is not just only sharing emotion, it is a mission, the drive of creating continuously. By creating art, people discover, clarify and complete themselves. The thesis analyses the notion of realism and abstract , exist in which and imply them into actual art works to criticize the current general art environment. According to elder’s experience, it shows that the virtuous and beauty purpose as well as Humanism are the direction of art development. By showing the creating process of art works and practice experience, the last part of thesis illustrates how the writer creates his personal style.
