Abstract
This study aimed to explore the impact of integrating Scouting education into kindergarten classroom management on young children's social adaptation abilities. Employing an action research approach, the researcher conducted a twelve-week intervention in a public kindergarten affiliated with an elementary school in New Taipei City, following a cyclical process of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The intervention strategies included the patrol system, badge system, and honor system, combined with contextual story-based introductions, visualized task designs, and team-based cooperative activities. These strategies were designed to support children's development across five dimensions: self-care, motor skills, communication, social interaction, and academic learning. Quantitative data were collected using the Social Adaptation Performance Checklist (2nd Edition), while qualitative data were obtained through co-teacher interviews, the researcher's reflective journals, and classroom observation records. The findings revealed that the Scouting-based approach effectively enhanced children’s performance in all five dimensions of social adaptation and contributed to the development of a more positive, collaborative, and supportive classroom atmosphere. The research process also highlighted the need for age-appropriate and flexible adaptation of the Scouting system to align with children's developmental characteristics. This study confirms the educational potential and practical value of the Scouting education system, offering concrete and feasible strategies for kindergarten classroom management. Finally, recommendations are proposed for educational practice and future research, with the aim of deepening and expanding the integration of Scouting principles within the field of early childhood education.
