日常生活中的公共圖書館─以東石鄉鄉鎮圖書館為例

Abstract

本研究旨在了解社區居民日常生活的行動，及其與社區機構的關係，最重要的，公共圖書館在其中扮演的角色。執此研究旨趣，本研究採取民族誌的研究取向，以嘉義縣東石鄉為研究場域，進行為期三個月的田野工作，透過參與觀察與訪談蒐集資料，並且將所蒐集到的資料經過分析之後，得出以下研究結果： 一、村民在各種時空中的活動，形成日常生活的動線； 二、這些動線與社區中的環境和機構是依據村民的需求而產生互動，村民在滿足他們需求的過程中，逐漸形成其特有的資訊行為； 三、鄉鎮中的公共圖書館在村民日常生活中是一個被邊緣化的時空； 四、掌握開啟公共圖書館時空鑰匙，且有求於公共圖書館的人，才會進入公共圖書館； 五、沒有掌握開啟公共圖書館時空鑰匙，雖然可能有需求，但不易進入； 六、村民日常生活的動線決定各種時空的關係，也劃定各種時空的界線，相對地各種時空也會影響村民日常生活的動線。 最後根據研究結論，提出鄉鎮中的公共圖書館如何轉型的具體建議，以供公共圖書館主管機關及未來研究之參考。The purpose of this study was to explore the life path of the commune in their everyday life, and the relationship with the institutions in the community. The most important is to find out the role of the public library in their life path. According to the purpose, the study based upon the methodology of ethnography. ‘Dongshih Township of Chiayi County’ was selected as the field of this study, and the field investigation was conducted from July 2004 to October 2004. Participant observation and interview were undertaken for the data collection. The result revealed that: 1.The path of everyday life is formed with the activities of the villagers in every time-space； 2.In accordance with the villagers’ needs, these paths interact with the surroundings and the institutions in the community. The specific information behavior was gradually formed by the process of satisfying the villagers’ needs； 3.A public library is an marginalization time-space； 4.People who hold the key to the time-space of the public library, and who have to rely on the public library will enter the public library. 5.People who don’t hold the key to the time-space of the public library tend not to enter the public library, though they have the demand to the public library; 6.The life path of the villagers determines the relationship to every time-space, and draws the borderline of every time-space. On the contrary, the time-space also affects the villagers’ daily path.

Finally, according to the result of the study, some concrete proposals were provided for the public library and future research.
