台灣地區藝術策展公司多元角色之探討(1990~2013)

Abstract

本論文以研究者自身策展實務經驗及藝術市場觀察，九〇年代起，台灣藝術策展公司如何兼顧文化素養與商業利益，介於藝術家，合作廠商與收藏家，一般民眾之間，以多元的角色扮演，維持藝術生態的平衡。

本論文共計五章，第一章就本文之研究動機、目的、內容及方法做一敘述，第二章文獻探討：就文化經濟學觀點切入，以當代消費文化社會理論闡明，台灣藝術策展公司於藝術生態中「文化中介」角色之定義，第三章九〇年代起台灣藝術策展公司之歷史脈絡：了解「策展」概念，如何成為一門顯學，第四章藝術策展公司之角色定位：以自身策展經驗為例，並蒐集相關資料，耙梳策展主要工作項目，並且針對展覽策劃、藝術經紀、商品販售、媒體公關四個主要工作項目進行討論，第五章結論與建議：對全文做綜合性的描述，探究藝術策展公司多元且複雜的商業經營模式，以及本論文所衍生可供後續研究之議題。This thesis, based on the researcher’s own practical experience of curatorial services and observations of the art market, investigates how curatorial companies in Taiwan since the 1990s balance cultural values and commercial interests, mediate among artists, business partners, collectors and the general public and maintain the balance of the art ecology by playing this diverse role.

There are five chapters in this thesis: Chapter One describes the motivation, the purpose, the content and the method of the research. Chapter Two forms the literature review: from the point of view of cultural economics, it clarifies through contemporary consumer culture and social theory the definition of Taiwan’s curatorial company’s role as a “cultural mediator” in the ecology of art. Chapter Three tells the historical context of curatorial companies in Taiwan since the 1990s and how the concept of “curation” became a school of learning. Chapter Four touches upon the role and position of curatorial companies: takes own curatorial experience as an example while collecting information from other sources and shows their major fields of work, discussing subjects from exhibition planning, art brokerage and sales to media promotions and public relations. Chapter Five marks the conclusion and suggestions, providing comprehensive explanation of the thesis, exploration of the diverse and complex business model of curatorial companies, and derived subjects for further studies.
