Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of “Experiential Cooperative Skill Development Project” on 7th graders’ cooperative skills and learning achievement of Scout Education. For the abovementioned purpose, the study used a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The 56 students selected from a junior high school were divided into two groups. All students in the experimental group received “Experiential Cooperative Skill Development Project” 4 times in 45 minutes per day, and then received regular TGT for 6 weeks, while the students in the control group maintained regular TGT classes. The study employed “Cooperative Skills for Junior High School Students”, which was revised by the researcher to conduct pretest and posttest. This study also collected and analyzed the following data: team game competition quizzes, the Outdoor Cooking Worksheets and the Outdoor Cooking Checklist, etc. The major findings included: 1.The experimental students significantly outperformed students in the comparison group in cooperative skills. 2.The experimental students did not significantly outperform students in the comparison group in learning achievement of Scout Education. However, most of the experimental students responded positively and aggressively to the “Experiential Cooperative Skill Development Project”. Finally, according to the results above, the researcher proposed some suggestions for the implication of “Experiential Cooperative Skills Development Project” for further research.
