Abstract
Originating from the UK, the Scout Movement with a century-old brand development has received significant support and attention from the Taiwanese government in recent years. The Department of Early Childhood Education under the Ministry of Education initiated the"First Year of Scout Revitalization" project in the 103rd year of the Republic of China, hoping to promote the development of Scout education actively, thereby realizing the goals of "customized talent development, balanced development of the five domains, and lifelong learning" in twelve-year basic education. However, while the Scout movement is primarily focused on youth-centered educational activities, previous research has mostly emphasized the development of Scout courses in junior high school, leadership styles of Scout leaders, and learning outcomes of Scout members in junior high school, with little focus on high school-level studies. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the influence of social support and organizational identification on high school students' participation in Scout troops. The results of this study found that:1、Different background variables among high school students (gender, school type, grade, activity participation rate, years in scouting) do not significantly influence participation in scouting troops and social support. Different background variables(gender)have no significant impact on organizational identification;2、Different background variables among high school students (gender) do not significantly influence organizational identity through participation in scouting troop;3、Different background variables among high school students (school type, grade, activity participation rate) partially influence organizational identity through participation in scouting troop;4、The background variable of years in scouting among high school students significantly influences organizational identity through participation in scouting troop;5、There is a positive correlation between social support and organizational identity among high school students participating in scouting troop.Participation in the scouting movement requires a continuous influx of new members. Therefore, based on the research findings, this study will also propose subsequent recommendations to increase awareness and understanding of scouting, encouraging more individuals to join the scouting movement.
