zh_TW
Focusing on the moving diffusion of COVID-19, the study examines how the implementation of policies and dissemination of news media can cause fear and anxiety among people. The decision of direction and mode during movement is significantly influenced by emotion, particularly the sensation of fear. The succession of fear-induced precautions transformed daily movement and produced new mobility in the pandemic setting, but they also built people's mental images of places of fear. In the study, the concept of “the other” is utilized to discuss place of fear. Humans serve as the primary carriers for the COVID-19 virus, which spreads through their mobility. The federal government, as well as the county and local governments, have issued orders urging citizens to stay away from unnecessary gatherings and movement to decrease the risk of viral spread. Local authorities erected obstacles to cross-regional mobility into their counties, evenin counties with fewer instances that had been proven. The boundaries set each other apart. At the same time, the narrative of the pandemic condition raised anxiety and fear through the use of new media. The idea of the place of fear is not just something that residents in the Taipei metro area, where the pandemic broke out, have in mind; rather, it is a belief that all Taiwanese people share. People's imagination and perception of the place of fear vanished as the pandemic abated. Objective statistics are frequently utilized to demonstrate the severity of the variances among countries and regions while discussing regional differences in COVID-19. On the other hand, the study focuses on how people's movement and subjective dread, which are mediated by media, generate regional differences in the imagination the place of fear and the place of safety.en_US
