Abstract
Background: A winning factor is a criterion that players must follow when trying to defeat their opponents and win matches under the restrictions of rules. Purpose: To analyze the movement and scoring mode of the fist usage in the Taekwondo matches and how the referees’ rate the fist usage. Methods: A total of 16 final matches in men’s and women’s competitions among the first division at eight weight classes of Taekwondo Competition respectively in the 50th National Intercollegiate Athletic Game (Taiwan) were taken as the research objects. Simi Scout was used to record the players’ movement and the number of times when scoring by fist usage, as well as the combination of referees in match videos, organize the data obtained and describe the result from the use of fist usage by the men's and women's in final matches. The data was input in SPSS for statistical analysis. Results: There is a correlation between a player's scoring and the stretch-out of a fist usage. Male referees are more stable in judgment. No difference exists in the number of times that players of different genders and weight classes use the fist usage. The numbers of times of players using the fist usage are all higher in the third rounds than that of the previous two rounds. Conclusion: Whether the fist usage can score or not is affected by the accuracy and the consistency of referees' strictness when judging. Using technique of fist usage is affected by the training mode of coaches from different teams. Finally, the fist usage is used more frequently in the third round of matches.
