Abstract

自1944年冰島正式獨立後,冰島流行音樂作為冰島重要的出口物之一,於世界舞台上反應及形塑冰島的國家意象中扮演關鍵角色,冰島音樂當代知名的冰島音樂人如Björk、Sigur Rós、Kaleo及Of Monster and Men,透過他們出色且獨具風格的作品及音樂錄影帶,傳播他們對於自身國家的認同與視覺意象,許多觀看者透過觀看這些視覺意見建立對「冰島」此國家的第一概念與印象。本文檢視冰島流行音樂錄影帶中的視覺再現並梳理這些意象與當代冰島流行文化的關係,分析來自特定、已享有世界名譽並產出視覺素材的冰島流行音樂家於主流串流平台如YouTube、Spotify上發佈的音樂錄影帶。本文將試圖揭露流行音樂錄影帶如何影響及形塑國族意象。
Icelandic popular music, one of Iceland’s most prominent exports, has played a critical role in reflecting and shaping Icelandic identity worldwide since the country’s independence in 1944. Contemporary Icelandic artists from various genres, such as Björk, Sigur Rós, Kaleo, and Of Monsters and Men, extensively spread the image of Icelandic identity worldwide through their talented music works and dynamic music videos. Many people have developed their first impression of Iceland by watching these visual arts representations.This thesis examines some of the visual representations present in Icelandic popular music videos and investigates the relationship between these images and contemporary Icelandic popular culture. It analyzes music videos from selected Icelandic musicians who gained international fame and released visual material on major streaming services like YouTube and Spotify. This analysis reveals how popular music video scenes are influenced and shaped by nationalism.
