The purpose of this study was to investigate the oral health behaviors of schoolchildren and the related factors. The subjects of this study were high grade students of a primary school in New Taipei City enrolled in the 107th school year. All the high grade students were surveyed with questionnaires. A total of 90 valid samples were obtained. The results are summarized as follows: 1.The scores of the indicator “oral health knowledge” were moderate. As for other four indicators, “oral health knowledge”, “oral health self-efficacy”, “social support and health attitude”, and “oral behavior” showed moderately positive. 2.Sixth grade students outperformed fifth grade students in “oral health self-efficacy” and “social support and health attitude.” Students with high academic performance had better scores in “oral health knowledge”. Students with higher family socioeconomic status outscored those with lower family socioeconomic status in “oral health behavior”. 3.The subjects' oral health behaviors were positively correlated with “oral health attitude”, “oral health self-efficacy” and “social support attitude towards oral health care”. 4.Students' “oral health attitude” and “oral health self-efficacy” accounted for 66 percent of the total variance of oral health behavior, where oral health self-efficacy is the most influential among indicators.
