當代藝術雙年展之價值評估─以2008年台北雙年展及光州雙年展為例

Abstract
台北雙年展係台灣民眾觀察台灣及全球當代視覺藝術風向的最簡易途徑,調查卻顯示,高達七成受訪之台北市民不知道台北雙年展的存在,這或許係因為理解當代藝術的方法與民眾以往藝術認知或經驗差異甚大,而造成排斥畏懼心態所致。
有鑑於此,本研究期經由研究雙年展以建立理解當代藝術的基本判準,並試圖探討雙年展之門票收費合理性;換言之,即探討當代藝術雙年展的文化與經濟價值,並以2008年台北雙年展與光州雙年展為研究個案。
本研究方法以深入專訪藝術界學者與專家為主,輔以觀眾及民眾問卷調查,綜合相關文獻發現,進行分析及探討藝術與策展執行層面相關問題,最後提出實際建議以作為台北雙年展未來辦展之參考,期許台北雙年展能有更長遠、更穩健的發展。本研究分為五個章節,第一章緒論、第二章文獻探討、第三章研究方法第四章個案研究與分析及第五章結論與建議。
根據研究結果得出以下結論與建議:
一、藝術作品內容必需有合適形式與之配合,才易與觀者產生對話。
二、當代藝術要成功引發社會批判意識,必需與觀者產生「互動」。主辦單位應開發多元化展示場域,並提升藝術論述的深度。
三、提高雙年展參觀人次並讓民眾有參與感及榮譽感為當務之急,進而可使市政府或企業樂於撥款捐助雙年展的運作。
四、實證調查顯示,台北雙年展宜適度提高票價,做為提升展覽品質的經濟後盾。
Taipei Biennial offers the simplest and fastest way to observe the trendiness of Taiwan and the global contemporary art for Taiwanese. The consensus actually showed that over 70 percent of Taipei citizens didn’t know Taipei Biennial in the interview. Perhaps that was because the way to understand contemporary art was enormous different from traditional art, therefore people were frightened and repelled it. Based on the above, this research hoped to establish the basic guidelines of understanding contemporary art and tried to discuss the reasonability of admission fees for Taipei Biennial. In other words, this research explored the cultural and economic value for Biennial of Contemporary Art, and takes 2008 Taipei Biennial and Gwangju Biennial as case studies. This research paper is providing in-depth interviews with the experts and professors and audience questionnaire surveys. Meanwhile, the collected historical data were used as references for this study to explore the issues of contemporary art and biennial curation. Finally, the suggestions are proposed for future enhancement of Taipei Biennial. This paper covers the following five chapters: The first chapter is “Preface”, the second chapter is “Literature Review”, the third chapter is “Research Method”, the forth chapter is “Case Studies and Analysis”, and the last chapter is “Conclusion and Suggestions”. The research concludes following conclusions and suggestions: 1. The content and the form of art works should match each other appropriately, so the works can dialogize with the viewers easily. 2. The artworks that interact well with the viewers are able to cause the critical consciousness on society successfully. 3. To raise the number of visitors and make the citizen with the feeling of honor and participation are most important and urgent, which may bring the municipal government or the enterprises to allocate or donate to Taipei Biennial with pleasure. 4. The consensus showed that the admission fee of Taipei Biennial shall be raised suitably as economical backing to enhance exhibition quality.
