Abstract
As increased global interaction and worldwide collaboration have become reality, the topic of international talents has become increasingly important to organizations. This interest has promoted a great amount of discussion with regard to the competence of international talents. This two-year research project will examine the competence and cross-cultural learning of international talents. In the first year, through literature review and interview data analysis, this study has begun to explore the core competence of international talents and possible methods or instruments for global talent assessment. In the second year, the research lens of this study will focus on the design of cross-cultural learning programs. As multinational interaction and cultural diversity become prominent, the focus of this study will be placed on learning programs, including how to develop the program and what content should be included in the learning process. The importance of cross-cultural learning has been noted by both practitioners and researchers. Through literature review, learning material analysis, and expert review, this two-year study will indicate the guidelines for program design and suggest relevant course content and materials. With these expected finding, this study can contribute to the consistent improvement for the practice of global human resource development and the design of cross-cultural learning programs.
