zh_TW
Based on the Theory of Triadic Influence, the study aims to investigate the relationship between emotion reactivity, avoidance/emotion-focused coping, smartphone refusal self-efficacy, and smartphone addiction among high school students, as well as the mediating effect of avoidance/emotion-focused coping and smartphone refusal self-efficacy on the prediction of emotion reactivity on smartphone addiction. This study used a purposive sampling of high school students in Taiwan, with the questionnaire administered twice using a longitudinal research method. A total of 1,258 valid questionnaires were collected at the first time point (T1), followed by 1,150 valid questionnaires at the second time point (T2), yielding a 91.41% valid sample tracking rate. Personal Information Form, Emotion Reactivity Scale, Avoidance/Emotion-Focused Coping Checklist, Smartphone Refusal Self-Efficacy Scale, and Smartphone Addiction Scale were used as the instruments in this study. The study used descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, regression analysis, and SPSS Process macro for mediation effect analysis. The results showed that: 1. emotion reactivity (T1) can significantly and positively predict smartphone addiction (T2) among high school students; 2. avoidance/emotion-focused coping (T2) can significantly and positively predict smartphone addiction (T2) among high school students; 3. smartphone refusal self-efficacy (T2) can significantly and negatively predict smartphone addiction (T2) among high school students;4. avoidance/emotion-focused coping (T2) and smartphone refusal self-efficacy (T2) serially mediated the relationship between emotion reactivity (T1) and smartphone addiction (T2) among high school students. This study validated the applicability of the Theory of Triadic Influence on the smartphone addiction process among high school students in Taiwan. This study suggests that practitioners may assist high school students in reducing the risk of smartphone addiction by helping them develop coping strategies and enhancing refusal self-efficacy.en_US
