新竹市國中健體領域教師資訊需求之研究 The Study of Information Needs of the Health and Physical Education Junior High School Teachers in the Hsinchu Area

Abstract
本研究探討目前新竹市國民中學健體領域教師在「教學活動內涵」(包含健康內涵與體育內涵)及「教學活動過程」(包含教材、教學方法、評量、班級經營及其它等五個主題範疇)之資訊需求程度,並分析探討個人背景及環境變項對其資訊需求程度之影響。研究對象為新竹市13所國民中學(含完全中學)的82位健體領域教師,並以普查的方式實施,有效問卷共計72份,回收率為87.8%,其中「男性」教師共有37名,「女性」教師共有35名。研究工具以自編「健體領域教師資訊需求問卷調查表」進行資料蒐集,並根據資料分別進行描述統計、獨立樣本t考驗及變異數分析等統計方法,進行資料統計與分析,得到以下結論:(一)需求程度最高之主題範疇是「班級經營」部分,同時需求程度最高之項目也大多是在「班級經營」之主題範疇;而需求程度最低之主題範疇則是「評量」部分,但在資訊需求程度最低之項目上則顯得比較分歧;(二)在總分及各主題範疇之資訊需求程度上僅有「體育系」組教師相對於「衛教系」組教師以及「體育」組教師相對於「健康」組教師,在「體育內涵」部分的資訊需求程度較高,其差異達到顯著水準;(三)「個人背景」變項相較於「環境」變項,對各項目之資訊需求程度有影響力,尤其是「學科背景」因素分別有十四個項目之差異達顯著水準;(四)新竹市健體領域教師年輕的師資比率頗高,顯示學校願意聘足額或聘較以前為多之健體教師,這對健體教學之正常化與專業程度會有相當助益;(五)新竹市健體領域方面仍以分科教學為主,並有配課情形,且所配之科目與其學科背景並不相符,這對學生受教權是否公平,值得商榷。本研究結果發現健體領域教師的個人背景對其資訊需求有顯著的影響,依此研究結果提出具體建議,供推動教師專業的相關機構組織與資訊服務系統規劃以及未來研究之參考。
The thesis aims to explore the information needs of Health and Physical Education Junior High School Teachers in the Hsinchu area, including contents and procedure of their teaching activities. The former consists of Health and Physical areas and the latter contains five categories, namely teaching materials, methodology, evaluation, class management, and others. Furthermore, the study probes the influences of teachers’ personal background and the environment variables to their information needs. The experimental data included census-taking questionnaires sent to 82 Health and Physical Education teachers in 13 Hsinchu Junior High Schools, with a total of 72 valid ones returned (return rate: 87.8%). Among there were 37 males and 35 females. The questionnaire was self-designed based on the related literature surveys and validated by 3 domain experts. The analysis was mainly done by descriptive statistics. Inferential statistics were also provided to test the relationships between demographic variables and information needs, including independent sampling t-test, and single factor ANOVA. The major results of the analysis are as follows: (1) The “class management” category shows the highest needs, and the detailed items of each category had similar results. The lowest information needs was in the “evaluation” category. However, no items in this category were distinctive from other items. (2) Only in the item of ‘content of physical education’ there exist significant differences between the Health Education teachers and Physical Education teachers. (3) Environment variables have more influences on the information needs than those of personal background variables. Particularly the “major in college” has much greater influence in the each information needs category. (4) There is a trend that more and more younger teachers worked in Hsinchu junior high schools. It may indicate that many schools would like to hire sufficient or even more teachers in the Health and Physical Education realms than before. This may greatly contribute to the standardization of teaching activities and teachers’ professional levels (5) The Health and Physical Education has been mostly separated into two subject areas in teaching. However, there are still many teachers taught the two subject areas at the same time without either Health or Physical background. Consequently, students may lose the opportunities to receive appropriate education, which the author suggests further re-evaluation is necessary. The study concluded that the teachers’ personal backgrounds have significant influence on their information needs. Suggestions to improve professional levels of teaching for related organizations were also provided.
