zh_TW
This research centers on the ocean as a core theme, exploring its dual role as an emotional metaphor and an ecological symbol in artistic creation. Through theoretical analysis and creative practice, it examines how visual art can serve as a medium for both personal emotional expression and engagement with environmental issues. The study begins with a review of literature and art history, tracing the symbolic evolution of the ocean—from representations of divine power in classical mythology and emotional projection in Romanticism, to its position in contemporary art as a site of ecological crisis and reflection. In the practical component, the author draws from personal experiences as a diver and environmental observer to create a series of paintings using oil and acrylic media. These works, blending abstraction and figuration, explore themes of solitude, freedom, anxiety, and renewal, while addressing environmental concerns such as plastic pollution and overfishing. The three featured works—Disoriented Dimension, Suffocation, and Gaze— respectively portray the imbalance between humanity and nature, the suffocating effects of civilization, and a gaze on the edge of death, revealing the ocean’s dual tension between psychological and ecological meanings. The findings suggest that the ocean functions not only as a rich emotional metaphor but also as a critical site for artists to intervene in contemporary ecological discourse. Artistic creation, while evoking emotional resonance, also bridges personal introspection and public concern, constructing a visual language that integrates inner experience with environmental awareness. This study hopes to offer a reference and inspiration for future art practices that seek to merge affective depth withsocial consciousness.en_US
