中產階級國中生對家長課業管教的回應

Abstract
本研究旨在探討中產階級國中生對家長課業管教之回應,其主要目的有三:第一,比較不同類型中產階級家長之課業管教方式;第二,分析不同類型中產階級國中生的學習問題;第三探討上述家長課業管教方式與學生學習問題之關係。基於研究目的,本研究採質性研究法,以一所位於台北市之典型中產階級國中之二年級班級為研究現場,該班所有同意研究者進行訪談之學生皆為本研究之研究對象,並透過訪談與文件分析的方式蒐集資料。根據研究發現與討論,歸納以下結論: 一、對新中產階級家長而言,「讀書」是孩子唯一的出路,亦是在現代社會生存的不二法門。 二、對舊中產階級家長而言,「讀書」是善盡學生本分,亦是改善營生的方式之一。 三、課業管教觀點決定不同類型中產階級家長之「課業管教策略」。 四、「新中產階級家長」與「有能力指導課業之舊中產階級家長」,在「安排讀書計畫」與「給予具體學業期待」層面上,有相似之處,卻因課業管教觀點不同,而有相異之作法。 五、新中產階級國中生之學習問題,乃導因於家長「課業管教觀點」及「課業管教策略」。 六、舊中產階級國中生之學習問題,乃導因於「學生學習心態」或「家庭教育資源」。 七、新中產階級國中生產生情節嚴重之情緒障礙,而舊中產階級在情緒調適上表現良好。 最後,本研究根據研究過程中所面臨之限制與困難,對後續相關研究提出若干建議。
This study aims at exploring the responses of middle class students to parenting in relation to schoolwork. It takes a grade 8 class from a junior high school located in middle class neighborhood in Taipei as research site. Qualitative data are collected through interviews and document analysis. The major findings are as follows: 1. For new middle-class parents, “doing schoolwork” is the only way for their children to survive in modern societies. 2. For old middle-class parents, “doing schoolwork” is, among others, one way for their children to improve their future living conditions. 3. Parent’s viewpoints over schoolwork affect their strategies to do parenting with respect to schoolwork. 4. Learning-related problems of new middle-class students are in most parts resulted from their parents’ viewpoints and strategies concerning schoolwork. 5. Learning-related problems of old middle-class students are in part stemming from their attitudes towards schoolwork and their family resources available for schoolwork. 6. New middle-class students feel anxious and depressed as far as schoolwork is concerned, while old middle-class students do not.
