Abstract

Canada is an immigrant country that welcome immigrants from all over the world. Since the Canadian government enacted the Canadian Multiculturalism Act in 1988, mainstream society has gradually accepted immigrants from all over the world. Due to the stability of the political order, the harmonious relationship between the ethnic groups, and the quality of life and education, it has always been a popular choice for Chinese immigrants. Chinese immigrants mainly come from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. This study will explore the development and transition of Chinese immigrants in the Greater Toronto Area community since the 1990s. The focus of the study will be divided into three main themes: First, the spatial location changes of the Chinese community, and the development of Chinese community organizations. Changes, three, Chinese immigrants in the local cross-cultural adaptation and other related issues.
