dc.description.abstractDaidzein is the most important active component in Pueraria root. Many com-pounds related to it are also found to have special biological activities. In order to find the relationship between the structure and the biological activities, daidzein, l, and its 6 derivatives, 2-7, have been synthesized from 4-hydroxy or 4-methoxyphenyl ethanoic acid via cyclization and alkylation reaction. The pharmacological test showed that the factor of the size of substituents and the presence of hydroxyl group on the benzene ring could not be ignored.en_US
