威廉・包康《給降E調單簧管的四首小舞曲》之樂曲分析與詮釋

Abstract

在單簧管家族中，音色最具穿透力的角色為降E調高音單簧管，音域比降B調單簧管高完全四度，屬於移調樂器，在現代作品中常常被使用，也因音色高亢有光輝，在管樂團中常與短笛作高音音域的齊奏；然而，高音單簧管的獨奏作品則是少之又少，本論文所探討之作品為現代美國作曲家威廉・包康(William Bolcom,1938- )《給降E調單簧管的四首小舞曲》。 全文共分為四個章節，第一章為緒論，包括研究動機與目的、研究範圍與方法，第二章為作曲家包康生平、樂器發展與創作背景，第三章為樂曲分析與詮釋，包含作曲家作曲之手法與特色，最後一章為結論，整理本論文研究後之總結。 筆者希望藉由研究此篇作品，更進一步瞭解美國單簧管作品，並且期望能更加掌握高音單簧管的演奏技巧。

Eb clarinet owns the most penetrating timbre among the clarinet family. The register of an Eb clarinet is a perfect fourth higher than a Bb clarinet. It is a transposing instrument in Eb sounding a minor third higher than written. Eb clarinet is widely used in modern ensembles as well as regular wind ensemble because of its bright and glorious sounds. Yet the solo repertoire for Eb clarinet is rarely found. This dissertation discusses the works "Little Suite of Four Dances for Eb Clarinet" written by William Bolcom (1938- ), an American modern composer. This dissertation contains four chapters. The first chapter is introduction, including the research motivation, purpose, structure and methodology. The second chapter talks about Bolcom’s life profile and composing background. The third chapter analyzes the music, including his composing techniques and features, and my own interpretation of this composition. Finally, the fourth chapter summarizes the above chapters. By researching and playing this composition I hope to learn more about Eb clarinet and extend my understanding for this instrument, therefore I would become a better player.
