台灣LINE WEBTOON使用者的韓國閱聽與解讀

Abstract
數位時代應運而生的韓國WEBTOON,特色是上下垂直滑動的形式,方便使用者於電腦或是行動裝置上閱讀,且通常為彩色漫畫,成為韓國主流以及特有的漫畫形式。韓漫居多的跨國漫畫平台LINE WEBTOON於2014年進入台灣之後,不僅成功佔據網漫平台市場,也成為使用者接觸韓國的管道。因此,本研究從台灣LINE WEBTOON使用者的經驗,探討該平台如何、又為何受到青睞?另外,作為跨國漫畫讀者的台灣使用者,在閱讀LINE WEBTOON的過程中產生何種回應?研究發現,LINE WEBTOON利用免費、正版、多樣化的漫畫種類、吸睛的內容以及獨有的音樂配樂,吸引使用者享受漫畫的世界。台灣使用者在瀏覽每日更新的WEBTOON漫畫平台時,大多作為漫畫讀者便捷且無負擔地消費漫畫的內容,只有偶爾在閱讀某些漫畫時,會呈現跨國接受者的身份,以原有的韓國經驗,近一步地去思考漫畫角色所身處的社會氛圍,接近部分的韓國社會。
WEBTOON, or digital comics from South Korea, is characterized by a vertically scrolling format that allows users to read on computers or mobile devices. WEBTOON usually comes in color and has become a mainstream and unique development from South Korea. Since its debut in Taiwan in 2014, LINE WEBTOON—a transnational WEBTOON platform with a majority of Korean content, it has not only successfully occupied the comics platform market, but also became a channel for Taiwanese young people to learn about South Korea's society and culture. Therefore, this research discusses how and why the platform gains popularity from Taiwanese users. Specifically, what are the experiences of Taiwanese LINE WEBTOON users/readers? How do they regard Korean society as transnational WEBTOON users/readers? The results show that LINE WEBTOON allows users to enjoy diverse, quality (legal), and eye-catching, musically-enhanced content for free. When Taiwanese users browse the daily updates on the WEBTOON platform, they consumeKorean comics like they are popping in easily digestible snacks. Only in some occasions would Taiwanese users reflect deeply—as transnationally-positioned readers—on the social and cultural meanings of South Korean comics.
