dc.description.abstract本文旨在探究台灣日治初期的文化啟蒙者—蔡惠如(1881-1929),評析其本土思想對於當時及現代文化教育的啟示。蔡惠如等一群台灣本土文化及教育意識喚醒了當時民眾的本土意識,隨著其諸多文章的出土,如此強烈與富有感染力的本土思想也從遙遠的年代傳達到了現今。每一位學生最感興趣的教材,就是與自己切身相關者。本土教材會讓學生有濃厚的親切感,在心中烙下深深的印象,因此台灣本土的教材應該是教育的起點。失落的本土教育該從增加對先賢事跡與作品的認識開始,這首要的一步,將能彌補台灣本土人文教育的空白,並是找回台灣本土精神的最佳途徑。 研究發現蔡惠如是台灣文化協會(1921-1931)的一員,雖然不及林獻堂與蔣渭水等人的名氣,但其為了堅守漢文所作出的努力,對台灣文化教育有極大的意義與貢獻。蔡惠如也追求自由平等思想,並且隨著其本土意識的覺醒,從富賈一方的商人轉變為站在台灣文化意識中心的啟蒙者,傾心注力於文教事業與民族社會運動,試圖喚醒台灣人的本土意識。從他的作品及文化啟蒙活動的初步探索中,看到其不為名、不為利,只為台灣文化保存盡一份心力的意志,並存有自己必須犧牲之覺悟,這種純粹的心靈實在是難能可貴。迄今對於探討蔡惠如的文學作品之相關論文研究中,多是綜合數家為研究對象,沒有一篇是針對蔡惠如個人進行深入探究的,也不曾從文化教育的層面切入,本研究盼能補足前人之研究在這方面的不足,尤其對他在文化與教育的領域能有更進一步的探析。 筆者期望從蔡惠如所參與的文化運動及文學作品去體驗其所表現的時代精神(Zeitgeist),用忠實的態度把握文本和作者的原意,與個體生命在歷史過程中進行連結而有辯證性地開展,以透澈明白蔡惠如在日治時期所參與的文化啟蒙活動裡的真實情形及所經歷過的過程,從中分析其本土思想對當時及現代文化教育的影響。此外,更從蔡惠如身為一個熱血澎湃的文人之言行活動中,得到啟蒙本土文化的具體示例,因此除了發揚前人較少琢磨蔡惠如的文化啟蒙思想對於教育的貢獻之外,更希冀能藉由探討蔡惠如的文學作品中振興新知識青年的思想,以及身為一個有力的知識份子所發揮的道德力量,對於民主自由、教育環境甚至是社會所產生的影響,作為對今日教育之借鑑。 本文共分為五章,第一章為研究動機與問題背景之闡述,第二章針對從蔡惠如的生平遭遇中,探討其本土思想之意義與形成背景。第三章從蔡惠如的文教事業與文學作品中,探究其本土文化啟蒙思想對於台灣文化教育的貢獻與影響。最後提出結論與建議,從蔡惠如的本土思想與實踐之運動評析其對現代教育的啟示,並對失落的本土教育進行反思。 關鍵詞:文化、教育、啟蒙、蔡惠如、本土思想zh_TW
dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this paper is to explore CAI, HUEI –RU(1881-1929)the cultural enlightener in the early days of Taiwan’s Japanese rule, and to analyze the enlightenment of his native thoughts on contemporary culture education. CAI, HUEI –RU awakened the local consciousness of the people at the time. With the unearthing of materials of this thesis, emphasis especially on such strong and infections local thoughts were conveyed from the distant era to the present day. The basis principle of modern education is the textbooks that every student is most interested in are the textbooks that are relevant to them. Local textbooks will give students a strong sense of intimacy and a deep impression in their hearts. Therefore, Taiwanese textbooks should be the starting point for education. The remedy for the loss of local education should begin with an increase in understanding of the sages and works. This first step will make up for the gap in Taiwan’s native humanities education and best way to find Taiwan’s local spirit. The preliminary study of this thesis finds that CAI, HUEI –RU was a member of the Taiwan Cultural Association(1921-1931). Although he is not as famous as Lin Xian –Tang and Jiang Yu– Shui, his efforts to adhere to the Chinese and Taiwanese language, have great significance and contribution to Taiwan’s cultural education. Cai, Huei–Ru also pursues the idea of freedom and equality, and with the awake of his local consciousness, from the business of the rich side to the enlightenment of the center of Taiwan’s cultural consciousness, he devoted himself to the cultural and educational cause and the national social movement, trying to awaken the natives of Taiwan’s people awareness. From the preliminary exploration of his work and cultural enlightenment activities he saw no fame nor profit but to save the will of Taiwan’s culture, and to have his own consciousness to sacrifice. This pure spiritual reality it is commendable. In the research on the related works of Cai, Huei–Ru most of them are comprehensive for worth of researching, None is mainly aimed at Cai, Huei–Ru’s personal in-depth inquiry, and has never cut through the cultural education level, hoping to make up for the research of predecessors. It can be further explored in the field of culture and education. It is my hope to experience the objective spirit of the cultural movements and literature work, that Cai, Huei–Ru participated in, to grasp the original intention of the text, and to carry out a dialectical connection with the individual life in the historical process. In addition, from the words and deeds of Cai, Huei–Ru as a bloody literati, he offered a concrete example of the main points of enlightenment in Taiwan local culture. Therefore, in addition to carrying forward the contribution of the cultural enlightenment thoughts of Cai, Huei–Ru to the education of the processors, it is even more hopeful to explore his thoughts to revitalize new intellectual youth, and the moral power exerted by a powerful intellectual, for the influence of democracy, freedom, educational environment and even society, can be used as a reference for today’s education. This paper is divided into five sections. The first section is the research motivation and the background of the problem. The second section is about the significance and background of the local thoughts from Cai, Huei–Ru’s life experience. In the third section, I’ll go over Cai, Huei–Ru’s cultural and educational undertakings and literary works he explores to the contribution and influence of native cultural enlightenment on Taiwan’s cultural background. Finally, the last section puts forward conclusions and suggestions, analyzes its meaningfulness to modern education from Cai, Huei–Ru’s local thoughts and movement.
