Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of interpersonal counseling group with the infusion of board games on the interpersonal relationship and mental health among junior high school students. This study adopted a pre-test and post-test experimental design. By open-recruiting and tutor’s recommendation, the research subjects were 24 students in eighth grade from a junior high school in Taichung who were randomly assigned into either experimental group or control group. The subjects of the experimental group were arranged to attend interpersonal counseling group for sixth sessions, once a week and each time lasted for 100 minutes. The interpersonal counseling group had no difference between the experimental group and the control group on enhancing mental health. 3. The program of interpersonal counseling group with the infusion of board games has the positive effects on the experimental members. From the members’feedback and the observation records, the members hold the positive and satisfied attitudes toward group activities, group interaction, group atmosphere and learning outcomes. Based on the mentioned conclusions, suggestions were presented for further research in the fields of education and counseling.
