少年服務工作教我的事:碰撞摸索成為社工的真義

Abstract

本研究以自我敘說作為研究方法,透過探究過往生命故事與少年工作經歷,去認識我的價值信念、生活與工作環境脈絡如何影響社工歷程,並透過重新詮釋與文獻對話的過程找回對社工專業的信心與方向。在敘說過程中,我自少年服務工作中所學的三件事出發,我從瞭解少年主體,到瞭解我自身主體在專業關係中、在機構中,與在政府委託服務方案中所經歷的踉蹌,以及在歷程中如何自我修復。在其中我意識到與少年工作的過程中,需適時放下專業視框,以尊重、平等和開放的態度去理解少年,以更寬廣的角度去審視我與少年間發展雙重/多重關係的倫理議題,並看見少年自主自決的能力,以及意識共同決策的重要性,去留意個人的價值與內在議題對服務的影響。在面對斷裂破碎的服務輸送體制中,確實難以滿足少年所有需求,也難以避免投入自身資源於服務中,但須適時評估自身能力所及之處,減少耗竭的可能。另外,不管是運用正式/非正式/自身資源,都須留意對服務的影響,並透過督導機制檢核自身服務;在面對與督導間權威議題時,可嘗試將「督導的態度」和「督導的內容」分開,避免因為權威的抵抗,造成督導關係中無法尋得有效支持的狀態。
This study uses self-narrative methodology. By exploring my personal life stories and youth work experiences, I realize how personal values and beliefs, life experiences and work environment can affect the social work processes. In addition, I have gained confidence and clarified my career direction in the process of reinterpreting personal narratives and academic literature.To conduct the narrative analysis, I started with three things: 1. how to build dual/multiple relationships between myself with adolescents 2. how my childhood/adolescent experiences can have an impact on providing services for young people 3. how to develop individualized programs for young people under the inadequate service delivery systems. By analyzing these three topics, I come to understand the subjectivity of the juvenile, the challenging experience of working in young service institutions as well as in government commissioned programs, and gradually achieve personal growth in the process of overcoming these challenges.When I face to inadequate service delivery system, I realize it is hard to meet all the demands from young people, and it is also difficult to avoid investing my own resources in the youth service. However, it is necessary to assess one’s own capability to reduce work fatigue. In addition, regardless of using formal/informal/private-resources, it is essential to understand the impact on services, and evaluate the services through the supervision. When facing authority related issues, we can try to clarify the issue by distinguishing the attitude of supervision from the content of supervision. In this way, we can avoid a state where effective support cannot be found in the supervisory relationship due to the resistance of authority.
