Abstract

As Taiwan transitions into an aging society, the pace of population aging is accelerating, leading to an ever-increasing demand for care. Home care workers have become an indispensable role in this societal context. More and more middle-aged and older adults are choosing to enter this profession after receiving professional training and continuing education from the government. The number of home care workers in New Taipei City has increased to meet the expanding care needs. While promoting long-term care policies, the government has also established clear long-term care payment methods, setting corresponding service fees for different service items. This study aims to explore whether there are significant differences in job satisfaction among home care workers across various service items due to factors such as gender, age, marital status, religious beliefs, and income differences. These findings will help adjust the assessment and consideration of payment fees in the future and provide references for long-term care institutions in terms of salary payments and work benefits for home care workers, with the goal of enhancing the quality of care services. Through such research, we can gain a deeper understanding of the job satisfaction of home care workers and offer concrete suggestions to improve our long-term care system, making caregiving not just a job but a mission and responsibility.
